Growing community, one garden at a time

There is a misconception out there that we should strive to be ‘self-sufficient.’ The reality, though, is that we should strive to be ‘community-sufficient’ and even more importantly, ‘Jesus-sufficient.’

When we rely solely on ourselves, we miss out on the best part of life. However, when we have a community of people who have our ‘got our six’, then we begin to understand the beauty of life. Ultimately, though, when we are reliant on Jesus, who has got our…well, everything, then we begin to understand what it means to be truly seen.

And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts.

Welcome to Grace and Garden. The internet has a nearly infinite number of sites, and your time is very precious, so please know that I truly appreciate that you chose to take a few moments to meander around.

Because your time is so precious, I am starting with my mission statement and values to help you decide if you would like to venture further. You will find a mixture of Jesus, gardening, and community throughout each page.

  • Mission: To grow community, one garden at a time, by creating in-person connections between seasoned farmers and gardeners and budding gardeners, or even just some budding gardeners who want a little help from their friends.’  It is my prayer to create a template for communities across the country to replicate.
  • Vision: For strangers to become neighbors, and neighbors to become family. One community at a time, one garden at a time.
  • Values: This site embodies the command from God’s Word to “love my neighbor”, and the intrinsic value of stewarding well the creation that God has entrusted to us.
